The Treasure-hunter’s house The place for the sheep The Treasure-hunter’s house
   Dear guests,
Welcome to the apartment “Stara Planina” in “The treasure-hunter’s house”. Here the hostess Galia Toteva attends to the comfort of your rest. In “The treasure-hunter’s house” the comfort of the hotel is replaced by a domestic coziness. This is the first half-ruined house which I bought some time ago and where my family sometimes spent their holidays. The breakfast is served in your apartment from 9.30 to 10.30 h. and obligatory includes sheep’s milk cheese and goats’ milk cheese from our home dairy, honey from our bee hives, airan or fresh sheep’s, goats’ or cows’ milk depending on the season. You can order also a home-baked twisted cheese pastry, a pumpkin pastry, mekitsi (batter fried in deep oil) or fried with eggs slices of bread.

You have at your disposal cutlery, plates, copper coffee-pots, coffee and sugar, as well as glasses for water, wine, brandy, tea and coffee cups. You can find your personal slippers in the little closet in the vestibule. The hostess will help you and guide you. In the cold winter evenings the heating is guaranteed by antique stoves, which are also museum exponents. Every morning your stove will be cleaned and recharged by your hostess Galia. There’s no need to lock your apartment! Nothing will be stolen from you! The people here in Kostenkovci and the nearby villages are timid and kind.

And this is the apartment “Magernicata” in “The treasure-hunter’s house”. These actually are the premises of the old village house, where the one time owners had kept their cattle. At winter time the heat from the cows and the sheep had helped them to maintain the temperature on the upper floor, too.
Here your hostess is Galia. She will show you how to use the hundred years old Austrian stove, how to make a fire and how to maintain it, how to prepare for cooking the French oven in the kitchen. Every morning your hostess will clean and recharge the stove and at 9.30 h will serve your breakfast in the kitchen.

You can also order a home baked twisted cheese pastry, a pumpkin pastry, mekitsi or fried with eggs slices of bread.
In “Magernicata” you have again at your disposal cutlery, plates, copper coffee-pots, coffee and sugar, glasses for water, wine, brandy, coffee and tea cups, as well as a short list of local, home-cooked dishes and appetizers, which the Chef of the tavern-winery “The Gold Coin” may cook for you at the very moment.

We hope you’ll be pleased.
And we wish you all the best!                                                                       Victoria and Atanas Spasovi
